BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Florida kicker Caleb Sturgis re-injured his back during practice this week and did not make the trip to Tuscaloosa for Saturday night's game against top-ranked Alabama, a source told The Sun on Friday.
Punter Chas Henry will handle field goals and former Buchholz High School kicker Brad Phillips, a freshman, will kick off.
Sturgis, who herniated a disc and suffered a stress fracture while lifting weights in early September, is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks, the source said. He is 2-for-4 on field goals this season and 19-for-21 on extra points.
