Travis provided Florida with its first goal in its 2-0 win at LSU on Oct. 21 off a 35-yard strike. It was the longest goal turned in by the Gators this season.
In Sunday's 3-1 win over Arkansas, Travis provided the assist on the Gators' game-winning and insurance goals. With the score tied, the ball traveled across the box. Travis received the ball just outside the six-yard box and passed up a shot to send the ball up to an open Sarah Chapman, who scored from 15 yards. Just under five-minutes later, Travis one-touched the ball to McKenzie Barney located above the six-yard box who flicked the ball in from 10 yards. It was Travis’ third double-assist match of the season.
Travis shares the SEC lead in assists (10) and is fourth among the Gators in points (16). She is the first Gator since Stacy Bishop in 2007 to turn in 10 or more assists in a season.
SEC bragging rights are on the line in the regular-season finale as No. 12 Florida (14-2-2, 8-1-1 SEC) travels to Columbia, S.C., to meet co-SEC leader and No. 18 South Carolina (14-3-2, 8-1-1 SEC) Friday, Oct. 29. Sole possession of the title goes to the winner and if a tie occurs, the two teams will share the 2010 league title. Friday’s match will be televised on SUN Sports (Gainesville/Ocala Cox Cable channel 48 or 748) with Larry Vettel and Matthew Stubbington calling the action. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the Eugene E. Stone III Stadium.
