Florida’s back-up safety, Matt Elam, is expected to miss Saturday’s game against Mississippi State with a concussion, a source said.
Elam did not practice Tuesday or Wednesday, but coach Urban Meyer said he participated fully Thursday.
He sustained the injury last week against LSU, when he hit QB Jordan Jefferson. Elam’s pressure led to an interception by OLB Jelani Jenkins.
Elam, who has played in every game, has nine tackles, including a sack, and a fumble recovery.
