After playing sparingly or not at all the past three weeks because of a sprained left foot, Florida Gators junior running back Jeff Demps may play in Saturday's game against Mississippi State.
Florida coach Urban Meyer said Demps has improved.
"Good news on Demps, he's feeling much better than he did last week,'' Meyer said. "He's missed three games, Kentucky (played one series), Alabama and LSU, so obviously we needed his big play. "I'd put him at probable for Saturday. He's going to do some practice today and they are telling me he's going to practice tomorrow.''
Quarterback John Brantley, who played last week with bruised ribs, a sore shoulder and a hand injury, will play.
"Johnny feels much better than he did a week ago and he's practicing at full speed,'' Meyer said. "Last week we had to rest him at times, but he's full speed.''
Offensive lineman Jon Halapio underwent surgery on his broken finger on Sunday, but Meyer said he is also probable.
"They are saying probable for play,'' Meyer said. "He's non contact today, but they are saying tomorrow he'll be able to have a little contact."
