University of Florida head coach Mary Wise addressed the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
Coach Wise shared her assessment of last week’s pair of home victories, as the Gators defeated Auburn (3-0 on Friday) and Georgia (3-1 on Sunday).
Wise became just the 16th head coach in NCAA Division I volleyball history to earn her 700th career win, doing so on Sunday afternoon. Wise has a career record of 700-131 (.842) in her 25th season as a collegiate head coach.
She then previewed this week’s schedule, as the team continues its five-match homestand this week by playing host to No. 24 Tennessee on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on ESPNU and Kentucky on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Coach also discussed and fielded questions about winning her 700th-career match, about the quick turnaround in preparing for this week’s matches, on playing on ESPNU, on strength and conditioning coordinator Matt DeLancey and his importance to the team and on what the No. 1 ranking means.
