University of Florida women’s basketball redshirt-freshman Lily Svete (Granger, Ind.) is a classic gym rat. Walk into the Basketball Complex at seemingly any hour and you’re likely to find the 6-foot-2 forward shooting and working on her game.
Svete was just four games into her collegiate career when she suffered a season-ending injury to her right knee, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament during practice on Nov. 26, 2009. She underwent successful surgery on Jan. 4, 2010, spent the next several months rehabilitating her knee and was cleared to begin workouts in June.
Svete talked about overcoming the injury, as well as on how pre-season practice has been, her ability to shoot three-pointers, playing the post, hitting some key shots in the High School Indiana-Kentucky All-Star Game, and a couple other topics.
