The Florida’s men’s tennis doubles pair of Sekou Bangoura Jr. (Bradenton, Fla.) and Billy Federhofer (North Miami, Fla.) fell in the final round of doubles qualifying at the ITA/D’Novo ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., hosted by the University of Tulsa, on Wednesday.
After posting two wins on Tuesday, when the sophomores competed as a doubles team for the first time, Bangoura and Federhofer came out on the short end of an 8-6 decision against California’s Nicholas Andrews and Jonathan Dahan.
The event’s main draws begin on Thursday with UF represented in the 64-player singles tournament by ninth-ranked senior Alexandre Lacroix (Paris, France) and in the 32-team doubles draw by the 20th-rated tandem of Lacroix and junior Nassim Slilam (Paris, France). Thursday’s schedule and matchups have not yet been announced.
