Florida Gators pre-practice notes from Wednesday

Florida Gators pre-practice notes from Wednesday

Prior to Wednesday’s practice, a few Florida players and assistant coaches met with the media in the visitors’ locker room at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Here are some quick notes from what they said:
TE Omarius Hines said his move from receiver may or may not be permanent, but, “either one would be fine with me.”
– Hines said his role as a tight end will essentially be the same as a slot receiver. “Yeah, pretty much,” he said. “I’m doing everything a receiver does.”
– Hines’ upper body is ripped and he wears Size XS shirts to show it. He trains by doing pull-ups with a 35-pound weight strapped to him. He can do 28 of those in about a minute.
– Defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said naming a second starting cornerback will be a game-time decision. Nobody asked about a starting middle linebacker because it’d be a waste of breath.
– Austin said Chuck Heater, Brian White and Scot Loeffler will be the coaches up in the booth for the Miami (Ohio) game Saturday.
