Gators' Mike Pouncey says suspended Chris Rainey will be back

— Florida Gators center Mike Pouncey believes suspended teammate Chris Rainey will not be kicked off the team, though coach Urban Meyer has not indicated that publicly.
Pouncey, who was a teammate of Rainey's at Lakeland High School, said, "He'll be back. We just don't know when."

Later, a University Athletic Association spokesperson told reporters Pouncey does not speak for Meyer, the program or the university.

Police arrested Rainey last week under for aggravated stalking. His case remains under investigation and could be resolved by Friday.

"He's doing good," said Pouncey, a team captain. "He just can't wait to get back."

• Meyer said tight end Jordan Reed is out until at least Thursday with strep throat.

• Left tackle Xavier Nixon has a sprained finger on his left hand, but Meyer said he will not miss time.

• Running back Emmanuel Moody returned to practice after a one-day absence with a thigh bruise.
