Women's Golf Finishes Tied for 10th in Mason Rudolph

The UF women’s golf team finished in a tie for 10th place at the conclusion of the Mason Rudolph Women’s Championship. The Gators recorded a team score of 291 (+7) Sunday which left them with an overall team score of 812 (286-295-291, +8).
“We played a team game today,” Florida Head Coach Jan Dowling said. “We left some shots out there today and that comes back to the short game but we made a lot of birdies. I was happy with how the team finished.”
The Gators were led by junior Evan Jensen (Belleair, Fla.) who moved up eight places from yesterday into a tie for 35th overall after firing a one-under 71. Jensen was solid in her first nine holes as she made seven pars and birdied the two par-5’s (14 and 18) to enter the turn at two-under. She sandwiched birdies on No. 4 and No. 8 around bogeys on the fifth, sixth and seventh holes to conclude the day with a one-under 71.
“Evan always stays on an even keel and nothing really seems to bother her,” Dowling noted. “That helps her play consistently and she is a big help to our team.”
Junior Marika Lendl (Goshen, Conn.) played a steady round as she shot her second even-par 72 of the tournament and her cumulative score of 221 put her in a tie for 46th. After carding 10 pars and two bogeys through her first 12 holes, she sank back-to-back birdies to get back even and then made par the remaining four holes. Lendl concluded the Mason Rudolph tied for ninth in par-3 scoring (one-under, 2.92) and tied for 14th in par-5 scoring (three-under, 4.75).
Senior Jessica Yadloczky (Casselberry, Fla.) matched her first round score with a one-over 73 which placed her in a tie for 62nd overall. She wasted no time in looking to improve from Saturday’s seven-over as she made three consecutive birdies on her second, third and fourth holes of the day. Yadloczky bogeyed her seventh, eighth, 11th and 14th holes to finish with a 54-hole score of 225 (+9).
Andrea Watts (Bradenton, Fla.) was one-over through nine holes and then made bogeys on her 10th, 14th and 15th holes but recovered to birdie her last hole and complete her afternoon with a three-over 75. Her total score of 217(68-74-75, +1) placed her in a tie for 35th.
Sophomore Mia Piccio (Bacolod City, Philippines) made 11 pars, five bogeys and two double bogeys en route to a nine-over 81. Her overall score of 225 (73-71-81, +9) tied her for 62nd.
The Gators will be in action next at the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. from Oct. 8-10.
