UF's Brantley becoming more confident with every start

From the Gainesville Sun

He graced the cover of numerous preseason magazines this summer. Some touted him as a possible Heisman Trophy candidate. Others talked about his NFL arm and speculated that he could be a first-round draft pick if he leaves after his junior season.

All this even before John Brantley took his first snap as the starting quarterback at Florida.
So, given what's happened through two games, was too much expected too soon from Brantley?

Opinions likely will differ on that.

The reality is he's still in the early stages of his development as a starting quarterback — and at times it shows.
Some in Gators Nation may worry he's behind schedule (based on all those preseason expectations), but Brantley's coaches are not.

"We've seen really good development over the course of two weeks," offensive coordinator Steve Addazio said. "He's done a great job, really worked hard. I just really like where he's headed now. I like his mind set.
"I think without a doubt, like anything else, there is no substitute for experience, and experience is gained. He's gained throughout these first two games. You can see the growth. We're really happy about that. That's what we're striving for with the whole offense."

Like many new starting quarterbacks, Brantley has had his share of early struggles, and he's looked a little shaky at times (along with the rest of the offense).
