Janoris Jenkins to replace Rainey returning punts

With Rainey out indefinitely, junior cornerback Janoris Jenkins will step in to return punts at Tennessee.

Jenkins returned a punt 30 yards last Saturday against USF after Rainey left the game in the first half with a concussion.

"I feel good," Jenkins said. "I wanted a chance, and I got it."

Jenkins returned punts and was a star tailback at Pahokee High before coming to UF. He said adding the punt returning responsibilities should not affect his conditioning. Jenkins already has two interceptions this season, including one returned for a touchdown.

"I should be OK," Jenkins said. "I'm in football shape, so I'm going to be good."
