GAINESVILLE - Everybody expected Andre Debose to become the next Percy Harvin.
While he missed his freshman season with a hamstring injury, that was put on hold. But this season hasn't been much better for the speedy wide receiver.
Debose hasn't caught a pass in limited playing time.
"He hasn't (been practicing well)," Coach Urban Meyer said. "Not because he's not trying, but just complications of the offense, running the wrong routes, and doing this and the other."
However, Debose and some other second-tier Gators receivers started to show signs of production.
"I think the receivers are starting to get healthy and get their legs back, because I think they were blown out a little bit during training camp," Meyer said. "We're getting a little bit of depth. You're seeing Stephen Alli, you're seeing Andre Debose starting to get going, and they have to."
Deonte Thompson is the only Florida receiver with more than 10 catches after three games.
Patchan out
OL Matt Patchan (Armwood) has seen his share of injuries at Florida, and this season hasn't been different.
The sophomore missed the first three games with a wrist injury and will sit out Saturday. Meyer thinks his return is two games away.
"I love Patchan's intensity and emotion," he said.
"We need him in the lineup."
