University of Florida running back Jeff Demps (Winter Garden, Fla.) has been named to the “Paul Hornung Most Versatile Performances of the Week” for his performance against USF on Sept. 11.
On Saturday, Demps ran for a career-high 139 yards on 11 carries and finished with a career-high 255 all-purpose yards in Florida’s win over USF. His 62-yard touchdown run made him the first player to have two rushes on the season of more than 60 yards in the nation in 2010.
In addition, he ran back a career-high 95 yards on two kickoff returns, including a career-best return of 54 yards. He currently leads the SEC with four kickoff returns for 151 yards, a 37.8-yard average. He also leads the SEC with 206.5 all-purpose yards.
The weekly award honorees highlight elite performances from the previous week in college football that display the same versatility on the field as the legendary Paul Hornung.
