GAINESVILLE — Florida coach Urban Meyer has praised WR Frankie Hammond Jr. for doing everything asked of him since returning to the team at the beginning of fall camp. But the sophomore has not earned a chance to play in games again, Meyer said Thursday.
Hammond, arrested on campus June 13 and charged with driving under the influence and liquor possession, will miss the opener against Miami (Ohio) on Saturday.
Hammond is paying for his tuition this semester, and Meyer said his game availability and scholarship status will be reviewed each week.
