Less than a week before national signing day, Florida recruiting coordinator Stan Drayton has taken a job at Ohio State as wide receivers coach.
Ohio State coach Jim Tressel announced the hiring Thursday, a day after a Florida spokesman said new coach Will Muschamp's staff was intact despite reports out of Cleveland that Drayton was leaving.
Drayton, who was also the UF running backs coach, replaces Darrell Hazell, who left the Buckeyes to become head coach at Kent State.
"(Drayton) is a Buckeye born and bred," Tressel said in a statement, "and will add a tremendous dimension to our football family."
Drayton was one of three coaches on the staff of Urban Meyer, who resigned, retained by Muschamp.
"Our focus will always be on the staff that are here, our current players and the prospective student-athletes we are recruiting," Muschamp said in a statement.
The first day high school recruits can sign a letter of intent with colleges is Wednesday.
