Florida’s fall signing class, complete with seven signatures to national letters of intent, topped this year’s ESPN/RISE Top 10 Recruiting Classes. The Gators signed Floridians Alyssa Bache, Bailey Castro, Sami Fagan and Briana Little, while also inking letters from Jessica Damico (Missouri), Lauren Haeger (Arizona) and Katie Medina (California) to compose this year’s signing class, which will suit up for the Orange and Blue starting the 2011-12 season.
Three Southeastern Conference schools cracked the top 10, including Florida, Tennessee and Alabama, while five Pac-10, one Big 12 and one Big Ten institution rounded out the full list.
ESPN/RISE.com on Florida’s 2011 recruiting class:
“1. Florida
The Gators had a lot of pressure to bring in a dynamic recruiting class with the group they have leaving this year, and they certainly pulled it off. They bring in a big class of seven athletes that includes two dominating pitchers in Lauren Haeger and Alyssa Bache, power at the plate with big hitters like Bailey Castro and Briana Little, and speed in the infield with tough players like Jessie Damico, Sami Fagan and Katie Medina. The Gators have the best recruiting class of the year, hands down.”
