ATHENS, GA. — Georgia used a 13-0 run down the stretch to erase a 16-point second-half deficit in a 70-64 win over Florida Sunday in a women’s game at Stegeman Coliseum.
Georgia (14-3, 4-0 SEC) won its fifth straight. The Gators fell to 12-7, 2-3.
The Lady Bulldogs are 45-12 all-time against Florida, including a 24-3 clip in Athens and a 45-9 mark under coach Andy Landers.
“This was a good one today,” Landers said. “I’m not proud or pleased with the way we started the game. I thought we were slow and we seemed unmotivated. But as the second half started, I think we determined that we were going to fight to earn a win, and fight they did. I’m really proud of that, and I may be even a little more proud of our fans and the lift that they gave us in the second half.”
Jasmine James led Georgia with 18 points. Meredith Mitchell had 15 and Porsha Phillips added 10.
