Gators get premier punter/kicker in early enrollee Kyle Christy

In a one-team race for kicker/punter Kyle Christy, there was little question of whether he would sign with Florida. The Brownsburg, Ind. native enrolled early and has been solidly committed to the Gators since he was offered.
Christy should be the starting punter after the graduation of Chas Henry, this year’s Ray Guy Award winner. Henry also had kicking duties for the last two months of the year as Caleb Sturgis received a medical hardship for a stress fracture in his vertebrae. If Sturgis is healthy next season, Christy might stick with punts. But he excels at both and can fill in if need be.
Here’s more on Christy:

Hometown: Brownsburg, Ind. High school: Brownsburg
Height: 6′2″ Weight: 175
Recruiting buzz: Ranked between second and fourth at his position by all three major scouting services, Christy has a strong leg and should have the starting punter spot. He excels at kickoffs and punts. Christy chose Florida over LSU, Iowa, Northwestern and Indiana, but it was never really a competition. He was a solid commit once he got the offer and has enrolled early.
