The University of Florida’s Jordan Jones (Suwanee, Ga.) was named to the Preseason Women’s NIT All-Tournament Team, which was announced Sunday evening following the championship game.
Jones helped the Gators (2-1) to the semifinals of the national event, where they lost 74-73 at DePaul, which dropped a 67-58 decision at Purdue in Sunday’s title game.
Jones totaled 36 points, nine rebounds and six assists during Florida’s three-game tournament run, including a season-high 19 points with five rebounds in the 76-70 quarterfinal win against Charlotte.
The Gator junior co-captain is averaging a team-best 12 points, hitting 8-of-18 from the three-point arc this year.
The Gators return to the court on Tue., Nov. 23, when they play host to North Florida beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the first half of a Florida basketball doubleheader, as the Gator men’s team plays Florida Atlantic at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the women’s game can be purchased at the Gator Ticket Office or on game day at the O’Connell Center ticket window beginning at 3:30 p.m. until halftime of the game: $5 for reserved seats; $4 for adult general admission; $2 for youth 17 and under and FREE for UF and Santa Fe students.
