Gators Set To Face Ohio State In Top 10 Showdown

The University of Florida men’s basketball team faces Ohio State on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in college basketball’s first top 10 match-up. The Gators enter ranked No. 9 in the nation, while Ohio State comes in at No. 4. It’s the first top 10 match-up at the O’Connell Center since the two teams faced each other on Dec. 23, 2006 in a preview of the national championship game later that season.

Tickets remain available and can be ordered online or by calling the Gator Ticket Office at 800-34-GATOR.

The Gators opened the year with an efficient 77-60 win over UNC Wilmington, while Ohio State looked dominant in a 102-61 win over North Carolina A&T. The two teams have met 10 times previously with Ohio State owning a 6-4 advantage. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN as part of the network’s 24 hours of college basketball to tip-off their 2010-11 coverage.

Ohio State is just the sixth top-five team to come to the O’Connell Center in the last decade. Take a look at Tuesday night’s match-up here.
