Florida's Billy Donovan could make up to $300,000 for winning NCAA title

Getting your team to the postseason can be very financially lucrative for some college basketball coaches.
Just ask Florida coach Billy Donovan. The 45-year-old, who is making his 11th trip to the NCAA Tournament this week, could make up to $287,000 in bonuses if he can guide the Gators to another national championship.

According to his contract, which was obtained by the Sentinel through a Freedom of Information Act, Donovan will make $37,500 for getting Florida to the NCAA Tournament. If he can guide the Gators to the Final 16 or Elite Eight, he can receive another $37,500 however, if Florida advances to the Final Four, that bonus is nullified and instead he gets $100,000.

If Florida wins its third national championship this decade, Donovan earns another $150,000.
The No. 2 seed Gators play Thursday against No. 15 seed UC Santa Barbara at 6:50 p.m. ET.
