Over 19 of the Florida football team’s draft-eligible players worked out for NFL scouts and coaches on Tuesday in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium during Florida’s annual Pro Scout Day. All NFL teams were represented, including head coaches, assistant coaches, general managers and scouts.
"They have some good football players here,” said Jacksonville Jaguars Offensive Line Coach Andy Heck. “It's always fun to come down from Jacksonville. We're so familiar with these guys, and I'm so appreciative of everybody in the program."
The athletes began the day in the weight room where they took measurements and did the bench press, vertical jump and broad jump. They moved out to Florida Field to record times in the 40-yard dash and various shuttle runs. Players also worked out in position groups.
“Playing in the big-time atmospheres and big-time rivalries at Florida has really prepared me for Pro Day,” said punter Chas Henry. “Being able to play in the National Championships and SEC Championships where millions of people are watching really helps to prepare you for what you’re going to see at the next level.”
The NFL Draft will be held April 28-30.
