University of Florida head coach Becky Burleigh addressed the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
Coach Burleigh shared her excitement of the Gators defeating South Carolina, 1-0, on Friday in Columbia., S.C., and winning the program’s 11th Southeastern Conference regular-season championships. The SEC title is the fifth consecutive for the Gator program.
She then previewed this week’s SEC Tournament, as the Gators now head to the SEC Tournament which begins Wednesday, Nov. 3 in Orange Beach, Ala. Florida will open play at 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 3 versus Vanderbilt. The Gators have won eight SEC Tournament titles with the last coming in 2007.
Coach also discussed and answered questions about having a senior (Nicky Kit) score the lone goal in the match to decide the league champion, on handling pressure and on playing a team for the second time in a season.
