Women's Tennis Returns to Top Spot in ITA Rankings, Six Gators in Singles Ranking

The University of Florida women’s tennis team returned to the No. 1 position in the Intercollegiate Tennis Rankings this week that were released Tuesday.

The Gators (21-1, 10- SEC) traded spots with Stanford, the only undefeated team remaining in Division I, on the strength of last week’s victories against then-No. 6 Georgia and then-No. 14 Tennessee.

Florida and Stanford have jumped each other for the top spot a few times this season, with the Gators holding claim to the No. 1 ranking five weeks and the Cardinal the other eight times.

Individually, the Gators have six players who earned a national singles ranking, while a program-record six different tandems received a national doubles rank this week.
