“I thought we had a great day today,” Florida head coach Mike Holloway said. “When you look across the board, whether it was the field events, the middle-distance or the sprints, we got better in everything we did.”
The two-day event concludes today with events beginning at 9 a.m. Gates will open at 8 a.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children and $1 for UF students with a valid UF student ID per day.
Junior Christian Taylor ran the top collegiate time this season in the men's 400-meter run, finishing in 45.46, to win the event for the second straight year.
Postin, who last week became the first person in UF school history to throw better than 200 feet in the men's hammer throw, broke his own school record in the event for the second consecutive week. Postin turned in a personal-best toss of 65.09m/213-6.
Junior sprinter Jeff Demps, the defending NCAA Outdoor 100-meter champion, captured the men's 100-meter dash in his 2011 outdoor debut in a time of 10.07 (+2.2).
Senior sprinter Terrell Wilks was fourth in the men's 100m in 10.35 (+2.2).
Freshman distance runner Cory McGee, the 2011 Southeastern Conference Indoor Mile Champion, claimed twomen's 800-meter run in a time of 2:07.45.
