Report: former Gators OL Maurice Hurt failed drug test at NFL combine

According to Pro Football Weekly, former Florida offensive lineman Maurice Hurt was one of three players who tested positive for marijuana at the NFL Scouting Combine.

FOXSports.com first reported that Georgia OLB/DE Justin Houston and Iowa DL Christian Ballard failed the drug test. Pro Football Weekly confirmed that report, and added Hurt’s name to the list.

For the former Gators guard, it could mean the difference between being drafted and signing with a free agent. Hurt was a projected late-round draft pick.

Hurt played in 41 games in his Florida career, starting 17. He played in all of UF’s regular season games last year, starting all but the FSU loss, but did not play in the Outback Bowl.
