UF starts No. 23 in AP poll

The media that covers college football agree with the coaches on where Florida ranks in starting the season, picking the Gators at No. 23 in The Associated Press poll released today.
Southern California received the top spot in the AP Top 25 preseason poll, with Alabama at No. 2 and Louisiana State at No. 3, Oklahoma at No. 4 and Oregon at No. 5.
UF, which finished 7-6 last year, is one of six SEC teams in the poll, joining Bama, LSU, No. 6 Georgia, No. 9 South Carolina and No. 10 Arkansas. That's half the Top 10 from the SEC.
Florida State is ranked No. 7.
The Gators were also ranked No. 23 in the USA Today coaches poll that came out earlier this month.
