Quinn is top paid UF assistant

Florida defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who was wooed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January, received an $80,000 signing bonus for signing a contract extension with UF in February.

The Sun received a copy of Qunn’s contract Monday, along with those of other UF assistants, through a public records request.

Quinn’s new contract pays him an annual salary of $510,000 and runs through the 2013 season. Quinn also receives an $80,000 retention bonus if he is at UF through the 2013 season.

Linebackers coach/special teams coordinator D.J. Durkin and running backs coach Brian White also received contract extensions and raises.

Durkin’s new contract, signed in February, increases his annual salary to $340,000 from $240,000 and runs through the 2013 season.

White’s contract was extended through the 2012 season and pays him an annual salary of $290,000, a raise of $50,000.

Tight ends coach Derek Lewis, defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson and defensive line coach Bryant Young were extended through the 2012 season but did not receive raises.
