Williamson and Annis Named to the NSCAA All-America Soccer Teams

Two University of Florida soccer players were named to NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-America teams, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced on Friday. Sophomore defender Kathryn Williamson (McKinney, Texas) was named to the All-American second team and junior midfielder Tahnai Annis (Zanesville, Ohio) was named to the fourth team. A total of 15 Gator players have picked up 24 NSCAA All-America honors in the program’s 16-year history.

For her outstanding play this season, Williamson has received numerous honors. Those include being selected to the NSCAA All-South Region first-team, named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year and named to the All-SEC first team. She is the second consecutive Gator to earn the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Year honor after Lauren Hyde received the award last year. This season, Williamson started every match at center back and led all field players with an average of 88.29 minutes per match.

In 2010, Annis finished second in the conference in points (33) and goals (12). Her 33 points led the team and her total of 12 goals was one behind McKenzie Barney’s conference and team-leading 13. Yesterday Annis was named to the NSCAA All-South Region first team and in November she was named to the All-SEC second team. Through three seasons as a Gator, Annis holds the No. 7 spot on Florida’s career points list with 70 off of her 28 goals and 14 assists.

During the 2010 season, Florida claimed the Southeastern Conference regular-season and tournament titles. It held top 10 national rankings in 10 of the 12 NSCAA polls of the season.
