Senior middle blocker Chloe Mann had a night for the
history books, as she took over Florida’s career hitting percentage record in
Saturday’s 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-10) sweep of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The reigning
SEC Player of the Year and a 2012 AVCA First Team All-American hit an errorless
.583 against Milwaukee with seven kills on the night.
Mann set the record with her first swing of the night,
having to register at least 1,200 attempts for her career to be eligible for
the all-time list. The old record was held for 13 years by Heather Wright
(1997-2000), who hit .424 during her years in the Orange and Blue. Mann is
currently hitting .465 for her career. Saturday was her fourth match of the
season where she hit .500 or better and the second straight.
