Coming
off of its second-straight victory and first SEC win, the Florida football team
moved up six spots to No. 18 in the Associated Press Poll and to No. 17 in the
USA Today Coaches’ Poll. The Gators were previously rated 23rd in the Coaches’
Poll and 24th in the AP Poll. UF (2-0) will face No. 23 Tennessee (2-0) in
Knoxville, Tenn. at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN. The game will be featured on ESPN’s
College Gameday. This is Florida’s second SEC road game in a row and will be
Tennessee’s first conference matchup.
There
are six teams from the SEC currently ranked in the polls. Among the 12 teams on
Florida’s schedule, there are five teams present in rankings: No. 3 LSU (Oct. 6
at The Swamp), No. 5 Florida State (Nov. 24 in Tallahassee), No. 7 Georgia
(Oct. 27 in Jacksonville), No. 8 South Carolina (Oct. 20 at The Swamp) and No.
23 Tennessee (Sept. 15 in Knoxville).
