Florida Football Ranked No. 23 in USA Today, No. 24 in Associated Press Weekly Polls

Following its 27-14, season-opening victory over Bowling Green, the Florida football team remained at No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll and dropped a spot to No. 24 in the Associated Press Poll, released on Tuesday. The Gators were rated 23rd in both of the preseason polls. UF (1-0) and Texas A&M (0-0) will meet at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN in the Southeastern Conference season opener on Saturday which will also be the Aggies’ inaugural outing as a member of the SEC.

There are six teams from the SEC currently ranked in the polls. Among the 12 teams on Florida’s schedule, there are four teams present in rankings: No. 3 LSU (Oct. 6 at The Swamp), No. 6 Florida State (Nov. 24 in Tallahassee), No. 7 Georgia (Oct. 27 in Jacksonville) and No. 9 South Carolina (Oct. 20 at The Swamp).
