Driskel is UF's No. 1 QB

True sophomore quarterback Jeff Driskel will start Saturday's game against Texas A&M, Florida coach Will Muschamp said Monday.

"It will be Jeff's game to play," Muschamp said. "I told him I don't want you looking over your shoulder, but you've got to play well."

Muschamp said he needs Driskel's mobility and that UF needs to move forward with one guy.
"I've said it before and I'll say it again, we can win with both guys," Muschamp said.

Driskel completed 10 of 16 passes for 114 yards and one touchdown against Bowling Green. He ran three times for 24 yards.

Jacoby Brissett, who shared practice time at quarterback with Driskel during preseason camp, can still be the starter if Driskel's play dictates another move.

"Certainly. He's one snap away," Muschamp said. "Jacoby needs to continue what he's doing."

Notes: Long snapper Drew Ferris suffered a broken clavicle in Saturday game and will be replaced by Kyle Crofoot. ... Offensive lineman Matt Patchan (pectoral muscle) may also miss this week's game.
... Cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy will play some at wide receiver this season, Muschamp said. ... Defensive line man Dominique Easley (knee) is fine, Muschamp said.
