Women's Tennis Jumps to No. 2 in ITA National Rankings

The University of Florida women’s tennis team moved from fourth to second in the latest national rankings distributed by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association each Tuesday.

The Gators (11-2, 4-1 SEC) defeated No. 12 Georgia, 4-1, and Tennessee, 4-0, last week and improved their overall strength of schedule, while moving into a tie for first in the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division standings.

Florida plays host to No. 8 Alabama (13-1, 5-0) on Friday at 5 p.m., before entertaining No. 18 Auburn (14-2, 4-1 SEC) on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Crimson Tide are tied for the overall league lead with Texas A&M (13-1, 6-0), the only team that has defeated Florida this season in SEC action.
