SEC: Donovan coach of year

Winning the SEC championship brought plenty of individual accolades for the Florida Gators.

Billy Donovan was named SEC coach of the year and Erik Murphy was named to the All-SEC first team in league's men's basketball awards announced Tuesday.

It's the second time Donovan has earned coach of the year honors. The 17-year Florida coach also was named SEC coach of the year in 2011.

In addition, Kenny Boynton, Mike Rosario and Patric Young were named to the All-SEC second team. Scottie Wilbekin and Young were named to the All-SEC defensive team, though Kentucky freshman center Nerlens Noel beat out Wilbekin for defensive player of the year.

Michael Frazier was named to the second team. For the second year in a row, Young was named scholar athlete of the year.

The awards were based on votes from all 14 league coaches. The AP all-SEC awards, based on writer votes, will be announced next week.
