Weis takes head coaching job at Kansas

In a stunning, unexpected twist, offensive coordinator Charlie Weis is leaving Florida to become the new head coach at Kansas.

The news comes just a little more than two weeks after Weis, who is having health issues with his knee and hip, stated that he planned to be at Florida for many years as long as he was wanted.

Weis, hired away from the Kansas City Chiefs by new UF coach Will Muschamp in January, is one of the most-respected offensive coordinators in all of football. But his first offense at UF this past season was statistically one of the worst in the SEC.

Muschamp now must find a new offensive coordinator at the height of the recruiting season.
