New role for Florida Gators’ Trey Burton

After sharing time with John Brantley and Jordan Reed at quarterback last season, sophomore Trey Burton’s role has changed drastically heading into 2011.
New offensive coordinator Charlie Weis has moved Burton to a more versatile role, called the F-position — a blend of fullback, slot receiver and short-yardage running back. Coach Will Muschamp said he considered moving Burton to safety in the spring but reconsidered because Burton’s role in the offense will be limitless.
At 6-3, 230 pounds, Burton rushed 75 times for 349 yards and 11 touchdowns as a freshman, but his job in Weis’ offense will be to move all over the field and create mismatches.
