Gators lacrosse ranks fifth in final IWLCA poll

Florida’s historic season ended with a little more history. The Gators were ranked No. 5 in the final Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association poll, the highest end-of-season ranking for a second-year program.

UF went 16-4 in its second season, going undefeated in the American Lacrosse Conference to win the regular season title. The Gators were 12-1 at home, losing only to Duke in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

ALC rival Northwestern, who the Gators beat during the regular season, won the NCAA Championship for the sixth time in the past seven years and finished No. 1 in the poll.
