UF takes step closer to SEC East softball title

Kelsey Bruder hit a two-run home run in the first inning and the pitching of Stephanie Brombacher and Hannah Rogers made it stand up Saturday in Florida's 2-0 win over visiting Tennessee.

The Gators (46-8,20-7 SEC) now need to sweep the series from the Vols (44-9,20-7). If the Gators win Sunday, they will capture the SEC East regular-season title and have a chance at the overall league crown if Alabama loses at least once to Ole Miss. If the Gators lose, Tennessee clinches the SEC East.
