Update:
Reed's status for Week 1 is in question due to a deep knee bruise, according to the Miami Herald.
Recommendation:
Though Reed may miss the opener, head coach Urban Meyer said he avoided a potentially more serious injury. "We thought we lost (Reed), but he only has a deep knee bruise," Meyer said. "That's a pain tolerance thing, so we don't know when we'll get him back." Reed is a popular breakout candidate this season, but even if he suits up for the opener against Miami (OH), he may be limited by the injury. If Reed is unable to go, receiver Omarius Hines and quarterback Trey Burton will see action in the Gators' hybrid role.
