UF basketball up to No. 11

Florida moved up two spots to No. 11 in the latest Associated Press’ college basketball poll Monday.

The Gators (10-2) host Georgia on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the SEC opener and are expected to be without senior forward Erik Murphy (12.1 points, 4.7 rebounds per game), the team’s second-leading scorer. Murphy has a painful rib injury that kept him out of Sunday’s win at Yale.

Meanwhile, unbeaten Duke and Michigan hold the top two spots in for the fourth straight week.
Duke received 62 first-place votes Monday from the 65-member national media panel, with Michigan getting the other three.

Louisville overtook unbeaten Arizona to be ranked third. Completing the top 10 are Indiana, Kansas, Syracuse, Minnesota, Gonzaga and Missouri.

No. 23 Wichita State and No. 24 UNLV are back in the rankings. Oklahoma State and Pittsburgh dropped out from last week. Wyoming, the other unbeaten Division I school, remains unranked.
