Gators Move to 6-0 in SEC Play with Blowout Win at Mississippi State

Hot-shooting Florida dominated from start to finish, hitting 14 three-pointers en route to an 82-47 blowout of Mississippi State at Humphrey Coliseum Saturday night.

With the win Florida (16-2, 6-0 SEC) improved its margin of victory in SEC play to a staggering +26.5 points per game.

Kenny Boynton and Erik Murphy scored 18 points apiece, combining to go 8-of-14 from three-point range. Florida finished 14-of-31 from three-point range as a team.


Patric Young and Scottie Wilbekin had 13 points apiece, while Wilbekin dished out nine assists as well.

In addition to torching the Bulldogs from the perimeter, the Gators dominated the glass, out-rebounding Mississippi State (7-11, 2-4) by a margin of 40-16.

The win wrapped up a stretch of four out of five games on the road. The Gators now return home for a pair of games at the O’Connell Center this week, first against South Carolina on Wednesday night, then a huge match-up with No. 23 OIe Miss on Saturday.
