COLUMBIA, Mo. — A goal late in each half by freshman Annie Speese gave the No. T-9 Florida soccer team (6-2, 0-0 SEC) a 2-0 win over Missouri (7-2, 0-0 Big 12), ranked No. 24 in the most recent Soccer America poll. The loss was the first for the Tigers since their season opener.
The only score of the opening half came late. Holly King intercepted a Missouri clear attempt just inside the Tiger half and tapped it forward to Jo Dragotta, who sent it forward to Speese just inside the 18-yard box. Speese saw her opportunity and sent a 19-yard shot to the upper slot for her first collegiate goal at 43:00.
