Sophomore
starting quarterback Jeff Driskel is doubtful for Saturday's game
against visiting Jacksonville State, Florida coach Will Muschamp said at
his Monday news conference.
“It's
a sprained ankle,” Muschamp said. “There's some swelling. It's black
and blue. Right now, they (UF's medical staff) just think he'd be
doubtful.”
Driskel suffered the injury in Saturday's wild 27-20 win over Louisiana-Lafayette.
Fellow
true sophomore Jacoby Brissett would get the start in Driskel's place.
Brissett completed 6-of-8 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown against
UL-Lafayette.
Muschamp
said Brissett made good decisions with his two deep throws Saturday,
one a 39-yard pass to Jordan Reed to set up the tying TD.
Wide
receiver Andre Debose is also doubtful for Saturday's game. Offensive
linemen Xavier Nixon and James Wilson are expected to return to practice
Tuesday.
