Florida senior running back Jeff Demps has been named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Demps, who becomes the fourth Gator to garner weekly accolades from the SEC this season, takes home player of the week honors after a strong performance against Vanderbilt.
Against the Commodores, Demps rushed for a career-high 158 yards on 23 carries (6.9 avg.) and scored twice. The 158 yards rushing marked Demps' third 100-plus yard effort of the season and the seventh of his career. Additionally, Demps finished the day with 213 all-purpose yards to earn a weekly honor from the SEC for the fourth time in his career.
LSU safety Eric Reid was named the defensive player.
